Rat Bastard's

Slogans of varying levels of obscenity festooned in vibrant plumages of spraypaint cling to red-brick walls, locked in a neverending struggle with a score of concert fliers that occupy any space in between. Along the left wall, a squad of plaid-uniformed booths face off with an invading platoon of similarly decorated tables, vying for supremacy over the black and white checkerboard tiled floor. The conflict continues by air as well. With the combatants being a clique of department store mannequins and the innards of various old automobiles, both groups swaying lazily overhead from lengths of thick chain bolted to the ceiling. The occasional hanging lamp plays its role as the poor civilian unquestioningly performing its duties of illuminating the booth/table skirmish.

Strings of twinkling Christmas lights snake their way all throughout as if some alien version of the Underground Railroad. Over booths, around lights, they wind; finally stopping to line the small stage off in the far corner. Its surface marred and scratched from constant use. Along the right-most wall stands the bar. Between the scattered ashtrays, drink napkins, and half-empty bowls of peanuts or pretzels can be seen the well polished, wooden top. Racks of different liquors are neatly arranged next to a lengthy row of beer taps displaying various brews.
